The XS Power delivers maximum control with more power than you could ever ask for. Below its solid reactive coverstock lurks a lower RG Aboslute Power weightblock. A combination some may consider an overload of power.
THS:The core/cover
combination for this ball does a very good job of blending out the midlane,
giving an even, controllable arc for our tester. The medium rg core, combined
with a solid reactive coverstock lets the ball get into a roll without any
trouble.With the exception of extreme
wet-dry conditions, this ball gave our tester a very smooth reaction that
retained energy very well.This ball
was very forgiving on early friction, which allows bowlers without a lot of
hand to stay away from the puddle in the middle. For those with higher rev-rates, this ball will allow them to
cross board without creating the extreme angles they often see on fresh house
conditions.
Long Oil:For our
tester, this ball didn’t quite have enough traction to get through the oil with
enough punch.As a great benchmark
ball, it easily lets him see when he’s encountered too much oil and when to
make a change to a stronger piece.For
those with higher revs, it will hook, but needs a little more surface to make
sure it doesn’t skid through the midlane.
Conclusion:This is
one of the most bowler-friendly balls out there: easy to manipulate the
surface, and good for many styles of play. Its midlane reaction, and medium hook potential make it a great
benchmark ball for adjusting to patterns quickly. For those with a small arsenal, looking for a ball that can be
used on a variety of conditions, this ball will fit the bill.
